YES! Young Justice is officially in the voice works now!

After years of campaigning and months of binge-watching by fans, Young Justice Season 3 was officially announced during late 2016. It seems that the recording sessions for the highly anticipated third season of Young Justice are finally underway.

Young Justice was a critically-acclaimed and fan-favorite animated series featuring a large roster of characters from the DC Comics Universe. The series coupled attractive animation and character design with rich, textured, long-form storytelling. Young Justice was watched by 25 million unique viewers in each of its two seasons on Cartoon Network.

Series mainstay Khary Payton, better known to YJ fans as the voice of Aqualad, teased the news in a semi-vaguely worded tweet, which can be seen down below!

Payton will be joined by the show’s co-creators and producers Brandon Vietti (Batman: Under the Red Hood, Superman: Doomsday) and Greg Weisman (Star Wars: Rebels, Gargoyles) for the new season, and presumably by much, if not all of the series’ original voice cast, though no official announcements have yet been made.

In fact, information about the third season of the fan-favorite, critically-acclaimed series remains thin. The original announcement was relatively vague, promising “new twists, turns and dangerous new threats for the team, but most importantly, the opportunity for fans to finally continue the adventures of some of their favorite Super Heroes.”

“The affection that fans have had for Young Justice, and their rallying cry for more episodes, has always resonated with us”

Sam Register, President of Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series, said in a press release. “We are excited to bring the show back for this loyal fanbase and to provide an opportunity for new viewers to discover this excellent series.”

Young Justice ran for two seasons on Cartoon Network, from 2011 to 2013. The show featured a large roster of characters from DC Comics, and starred a team of younger heroes including Robin, Superboy, Artemis, Kid Flash, Miss Martian and Aqualad, who acted as “The Team” — a covert group under the auspices of the Justice League.

Warner Bros. Animation also launched a website, YJS3.com, to keep fans up-to-date with the latest information on Young Justice Season 3.
