Let’s be honest, we all get tired of waiting, especially when events as big as those in Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 are on the horizon to not only continue shaping the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the story of the Guardians themselves. Marvel Studios knows this, and along with an early screening for few lucky fans, they went the extra light year to release production notes that reveal interesting details of the film…
SPOILER WARNING for Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2
Twitter user @StitchKingdom singled out the notes, particularly something said by Stallone on the character he’s playing which mentions there will be a confrontation between Michael Rooker’s Yondu, and a character called Stakar, meeting after “almost twenty years” of a brewing conflict. In the comics, better known as Starhawk, Stakar Ogord is responsible for helping form the original Guardians team of the 31st century. All the more revealing is that earlier this month, reports surfaced that the novelization even referenced the name “Ogord”.
Not only that, but supposedly, the film’s working title was “Guardians 3000.” This begs the question: Just how significant is Stallone’s role as Starhawk if the title of the film could have been a reference to the team the character played an integral part in? We’ll just have to wait until Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 comes out next month!
