Much like Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) has been acting (in part) as the connective tissue weaving the characters and their stories together on the big screen, Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple has been doing the same for the darker and grittier corners of Marvel’s cinematic universe.
Having featured in Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, her presence on the shows have no doubt played a large part in reminding fans of the inevitable team up connecting the heroes to each other. With Defenders set for an August 18th release later this year, Claire’s role as the common factor on all shows seems to be at an end.
During a press day for her new movie Unforgettable, Dawson sat down for a one-on-one interview with The Collider, where she not only mentioned her admiration for the character of Claire Temple and her importance in the lives of the Defenders, but also mentioned her own involvement in coming Marvel Netflix projects, she said:
People are busy! There are so many times where I really want it to happen. I really wanted to do a cameo on The Punisher, but it doesn’t always work that way.
Despite her absence in The Punisher, Claire Temple will be returning in The Defenders.
