The Marvel Cinematic Universe has just crossed $11 billion U.S. thanks to James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 international release and opening with $106 million U.S. This movie will obviously bring in even more money come Friday, May 5.
This universe started out with the release of Iron Man (2008) which made $585.2 million in the U.S. Iron Man was directed by Jon Favreau and starring him as Happy Hogan along with Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Gwyneth Platrow as Pepper Potts, Terrence Howard as Rhodey, Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stane/Iron Monger, Paul Bettany as JARVIS, Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, and a surprising cameo by Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
Marvel is not quite done taking our money either. We still have Spider-Man: Homecoming, Inhumans, and Thor: Ragnarok THIS YEAR! And they still want our money after that too. When will Marvel stop? Only time can really tell us.
