Taking the cinema world by storm back in early 2016, Marvel’s Merc With A Mouth is set to make his way to a television screen near you after FXX placed a series order of an “Adult Animated Comedy,” with the first 10-episode season set to debut in early 2018.
With Deadpool already being a very hot prospect by himself, what makes the series all the more enticing is that Golden Globe winner Donald Glover is set to produce and write the show, along with his brother Stephen Glover. The pair have already proved to be quite the dynamic duo, having worked together on 2016’s break-out and Golden Globe winning comedy show, Atlanta.
President of original programming at FX Networks and Productions, Nick Grad, had the following to say about Donald Glover:
Donald Glover is an incredibly gifted and versatile artist who’ll bring the untitled Marvel’s Deadpool series to life with the same intense, singular vision as his breakout hit Atlanta,” said Nick Grad. “With the success of Legion, we’re looking forward to again partnering with Marvel Television to create a series that is bold, striking and entirely original.
The still untitled Deadpool series is a co-production by Marvel Television in association with FX Productions and ABC Signature Studios for FXX.
