Oscar winner and Beauty and the Beast director Bill Condon is officially announced to helm the next installment of the universe that will be called Bride of Frankenstein. That film is set to be released February 14, 2019. The actress chosen for the lead role will also be announced soon according to the studio. Angelina Jolie has been rumored for the role the past few months. Condon had the following to say about the opportunity to remake the classic film:

I’m very excited to bring a new Bride of Frankenstein to life on-screen, particularly since James Whale’s original creation is still so potent. The Bride of Frankenstein remains the most iconic female monster in film history, and that’s a testament to Whale’s masterpiece-which endures as one of the greatest movies ever made.

Danny Elfman was also announced to compose the music for The Mummy that will be released on June 9. The film will star Sofia Boutella as Princess Ahmanet / The Mummy, Tom Cruise as Nick Morton and Russell Crowe as Dr. Henry Jekyll.

A promo called Monster Legacy was released with a collage featuring clips from all the classic universal monster films.
