It has been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter that director Patty Jenkins and title star Gal Gadot are signed to a second film.
In a profile article, The Complex Gender Politics Of The ‘Wonder Woman’ Movie, writer Tatiana Siegel stated this:
“And if it all goes according to plan, Jenkins is more than ready to return to the character for a contemporary-set Wonder Woman sequel (she and Gadot are contractually committed to a second film).”
Wonder Woman has been certified as fresh by Rotten Tomatoes with a Tomatometer score of 93%. Its early success had led it to an $11 million opening night this past Thursday. Therefore, it goes without saying many fans of the hero would love to have Jenkins return for the sequel.
Wonder Woman is now playing in theaters.
