Summer 2017 is here, and we at Geek Motivation want everyone to know about the main comics events in both DC and Marvel. We wouldn’t want you to miss out on the all-star teams for DC’s Dark Days and Dark Nights, which will include current Detective Comics writer James Tynion IV, Greg Capullo returning to team-up with Scott Snyder, and (among others) Jim Lee! Dark Days will begin with The Forge on June 14, and DC’s description follows: “Darkness comes to the DC Universe with the mystery of The Forge! Aquaman, The Flash, and more of DC’s heroes suspect Batman of hiding a dark secret that could threaten the very existence of the multiverse! It’s an epic that will [span] generations–but how does it connect to the origins of one of DC’s most legendary heroes?”

Likewise, we wouldn’t want you to miss out on Marvel’s 10-issue series of Generations, which will run through September and includes such writers and artists as the current All-New Wolverine writer Tom Taylor, current Secret Empire and Captain America: Steve Rogers writer Nick Spencer, current Hawkeye writer Kelly Thompson, and (among others) current Infamous Iron Man and Invincible Iron Man writer Brian Michael Bendis. Marvel’s description of this event follows: “Comics’ top creators forge the future of the Marvel Universe this August! Once upon a time, a kid from New York City picked up a shield and charged into battle…A prodigal son lifted a sacred hammer and proved himself worthy…And an arrogant genius forged an armor that would harness his true potential. Together, they became Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and ushered in an age of marvels! This August, prepare for Marvel’s GENERATIONS, but…what is the startling secret that ties them all together?”

Both companies have released solicitations for these main events and more, so we include a list of the release dates (below) that focuses on titles that will impact both the DC and Marvel universes. They are by no means comprehensive lists. For DC, they include first-issue release dates and titles that are directly related to The Button. For Marvel, they are first-issue release dates.
