As you all know Wonder Woman premiered this weekend. I’m happy to say that Wonder Woman nabbed a total of $100.5 million at the box office in the US & Canada this weekend. Internationally it pulled in $122.5 million! Analyst expected it to only get $70 million to $90 million at the box office. Since it’s only the opening weekend I’m sure that it will make much more at the box office. Wonder Woman has claimed the title of the first female fronted superhero blockbuster! (That’s so cool)
Starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine and Robin Wright. Directed by Patty Jenkins. “Before she was Wonder Woman she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained warrior. When a pilot crashes and tells of conflict in the outside world, she leaves home to fight a war to end all wars, discovering her full powers and true destiny.”
It’s amazing to see that everyone around the world has embraced Wonder Woman. I hope we see more female superheroes in the future because it’s empowering to see a woman leading in the big screen. Not only was there a main female lead, there was also a female directing it, which was Patty Jenkins. That probably played an important role for landing this movie at the #1 spot in the box office.
