Sweet Christmas!
Luke Cage‘s Mahershala Ali (Cornell Cottonmouth) has been confirmed to voice in the untitled Spider-Man animated film.
According to The Tracking Board, the Oscar Winner will be featured as Aaron Davis, Miles Morales’ uncle. This news also follows the announcement of Atlanta star Brian Tyree Henry, who will play the Web Head’s father, Jefferson Davis.
In the comics Jefferson, Miles, and Aaron Davis used to be thieves, until Jefferson met Nick Fury and was talked into working for S.H.I.E.L.D. Refusing to work with Fury, he married Rio Morales and had a son, Miles Morales.
The movie will be the first to follow Miles Morales’ adventures on the big screen. Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street) are set to direct the animated film. It is unclear what the film will be called, but it is confirmed for a 2018 release.
