It was reported a couple of months ago that Lucy Liu will be a part of Luke Cage season 2 production either on the screen or behind the camera. There is now confirmation that she will be helming the premiere of the Harlem superhero’s second season.
Liu commented on her role in the production:
What a thrill to collaborate with Marvel and Netflix, two industry titans, who paint our world with inspiring stories and beguiling characters. It is such an honor to work with such a passionate and fearless team.
Executive Producer Jeph Loeb also gave Liu quite the endosrment for the role.
When you’re dealing with a bulletproof man, it helps if you have a bulletproof Director. Lucy brings a keen eye, a superb sense of story, and an obvious love of actors. She is rocking Luke Cage 2.
This will not be Liu’s first time working behind the camera. She directed four episodes of the show Elemantary.
