Tom Holland Wants Tobey Maguire As Uncle Ben

With the release of the latest Spider-Man movie there is so much to discuss about the film and Spider-Man’s future in the MCU. Through all this speculation and discussion, an interesting comment made by Tom Holland has particularly caught our eye.

In an interview with BBC Radio 1 Tom Holland discussed Spider-Man and who he would like to play Uncle Ben to which he stated,

“I kinda want Tobey Maguire to play Uncle Ben, I think that’d be super funny, but I don’t think he’ll do it.”

With this comment, it is nice to see the various thoughts which are floating around in the Marvel studios within the actors themselves. But when we do look at the possibility of Tobey Maguire playing Uncle Ben, the idea is not too far off simply because he can fit the age range to be dating Marisa Tomei’s version of Aunt May. Another interesting idea for having Tobey as Uncle Ben is that he could even serve as a start of a spiderverse which includes previous incarnations of Spider-Man including Andrew Garfield. If Tobey were to be Uncle Ben, he would be comparable to Thomas Wayne being Batman on Earth 2. While the Spiderverse theory is probably far off, it is always interesting to think outlandish thoughts to create discussions.
