Yesterday it was announced that Marvel’s Iron Fist has been renewed for Season 2. But there has been a creative shakeup going on behind the scenes!
According to Entertainment Weekly, the Marvel superhero show will change the showrunners for its next season. Scott Buck (Dexter), was the showrunner for the first season and his work on the show wasn’t received pretty well. Critics have criticized it for the slow pacing and fans were highly disappointed, hoping that Season 2 will be better.
Raven Metzner (Sleepy Hollow, Falling Skies) will be the showrunner for the next season! Marvel Television president Jeph Loeb gave a statement on Metzner:
“Raven’s love of all things Iron Fist and his extensive knowledge of martial arts films made him the perfect choice to continue telling the adventures of Danny Rand and Colleen Wing. Season One and The Defenders are only the beginning of this fantastic action packed tale.”
Since he’s a lover of all thing Iron Fist and knowledge of martial arts movies. This is already a huge step up from the previous one. Fans can restore their hopes that Marvel can deliver on the quality of their other Netflix offerings this time. Let’s hope, Metzner will want to see Danny Rand wear his Iron Fist costume as much as we do!
At Comic-Con on Friday, Marvel executive Jeph Loeb teased that the popular character Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) will team up with Marvel’s Luke Cage detective Misty Knight (Simone Missick) in the new season (Daughter of the Dragons anyone?)
There’s no premiere date for Marvel’s Iron Fist Season 2 yet.
