After Suicide Squad‘s failure among critics and fans, Director David Ayer was set to direct a Harley Quinn led spinoff called Gotham City Sirens. During San Diego Comic Con 2017, Gotham City Sirens was not included in the movie slate. Heroic Hollywood reported that “inside sources” said that Ayer won’t be staying with the film. Again, these sources are probably not legit. However, Ayer recently tweeted this:

This tweet seems to be an obvious nod to him directing Gotham City Sirens and we may ever get to hear Harley say “Here’s HARLEY!”

I kinda hope he leaves the project. I am a massive fan of his work but Suicide Squad didn’t feel like a David Ayer movie. I’m sure he could do a good job with Gotham City Sirens but I think someone else might be better suited for the source material.
