Today it’s already been confirmed that Alfre Woodard has joined the cast of 2019’s The Lion King. The live-action remake of the classic 1994 animated movie already includes James Earl Jones (Mufasa), Donald Glover (Simba), Billy Eichner (Timon), Seth Rogen (Pumba) and John Oliver (Zazu).

The cast got yet another cast member in John Kani. He is known for his role as King T’Chaka in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, which also stars Alfre Woodward. John Kani is set to play Rafiki according to Heroic Hollywood. Mufasa’s royal adviser.

The Lion King, written by Jeff Nathanson and directed by Jon Favreau, is set to release on July 19 2019.
