Marvel Studios will be releasing their first female lead movie Captain Marvel in 2019. This year DC released their first successful female led movie Wonder Woman. It was well received critically and financially.

In a recent interview with USA Today, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson while promoting her film Glass Castle, was asked for her reaction to Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman to which she responded:

“I sobbed, like, seven times. It just felt really important. It felt like something I hadn’t seen.”

Brie Larson also expressed her gratitude to director Patty Jenkins by a tweet when the movie released.

Looks like she loved the movie a lot and it is great to know!

Wonder Woman continues to impress at the box office, even this late into its run. The film has now passed $400 million domestically.

Wonder Woman hits Blu-Ray later this year, while Captain Marvel will hit the theaters on March 8, 2019.
