Disney fans get ready to welcome the newest addition of the live-action Aladdin cast, Numan Acar. Acar is best known for his role as Hassam Haqqani in the television show Homeland.
Acar will be playing the role of Hakim, Jafar’s head of guards. He will be acting along side Mena Massoud (Aladdin), Naomi Scott (Jasmine), Will Smith (Genie), and Marwan Kenzari (Jafar). Aladdin will be directed by Guy Ritchie, whose previous work includes Sherlock (2009). The Aladdin writers include John August and Vanessa Taylor. August has worked on many Tim Burton films like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Corpse Bride while Taylor is currently a writer and co-producer for HBO’s hit show Game of Thrones.
Aladdin has not been given an official release date.
