Crazy Stupid Love Directors In Final Negotiations For Joker And Harley Spinoff

Directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are currently in the final negotiations with WB to direct a Joker and Harley Quinn spinoff. Despite being most famous for their film Crazy Stupid Love they have also been noteworthy for their work on an NBC drama titled This is Us. The film is also said to bring back Jared Leto and Margot Robbie to reprise their roles as the iconic villains. The Hollywood Reporter has stated the film is described as a ‘criminal love story’ and has also stated it can be compared to ‘When Harry Met Sally on Benzedrine. The Joker and Harley spinoff is set to be included in the current lineup of DC films to come and we can expect it to come after the sequel to Suicide Squad as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

It is definitely interesting to see directors who have created loving and positive take on such a more serious subject to portray. The Joker and Harley have almost never shown a true healthy relationship and we can only hope that the characters and their relationship be portrayed in an accurate fashion. While Suicide Squad may have not done the characters justice, it can possibly be better represented in this upcoming film.

While a Joker and Harley Quinn Movie may sound interesting at first a question we may have is whether or not we really need the film in the first place? There have also been a few rumors about how this film may affect the production of the upcoming Gotham City Sirens film.
