Less than a week after Lucasfilms announces J.J. Abrams’ return to the director seat for Star Wars: Episode IX, and the premiere date pushed back to December 2019, Variety has reported that Disney pushed production for the film from February to June of next year.
The decision for a December release comes from the news that Lucasfims fired Colin Trevorrow due to rumors of him being “dificult” to work with.
Disney will now replace the fillm’s slot for the live-action Aladdin, directed by Guy Ritchie. The Disney live adaptation will release on May 24.
Star Wars: Episode IX will hit theaters December 20, 2019 with. J.J. Abrams directing and writing the film.
