While he is known mainly for his role as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, Mark Hamill’s second most popular role is as The Joker. While never playing a live action version of the popular comic book villain, Hamill has lent his voice to the Clown Prince of Crime many times in the past couple of decades. It was inevitable that he’d end up questioned about the newest portrayal of the character by Jared Leto in the DCEU, especially with the version being as controversial as it is.

Oddly enough, it wasn’t the press that asked Hamill about Leto’s Joker. The comment was actually brought up by a disgruntled fan on Twitter who suggested Leto watch Hamill’s work as the character to see how it should be done.

Hamill’s response was very kind and shows how respectful he is as a man. This is how an actor should respond when asked about a fellow actor’s performance. They shouldn’t hate on them. They should find something positive to say, especially because every actor puts a lot of energy into their work.

Mark Hamill is set to return to the role of Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Last Jedi later this year, while Leto can next be seen as the Joker in the upcoming Joker/Harley Quinn spinoff film.
