“Let’s do it” says Cyborg as our heroes spring into action in the opening seconds. We’ve seen it all before, but it’s always great to get a reminder of how epically the League is going perform on screen.
We open on Lois, wandering onto what is likely the front porch of the Kent estate at dawn to see a familiar figure, standing amidst the field. She goes out to him.
“I’ll take that as a yes,” Clark says. Lois is confused. “The ring,” he clarifies as we see a flashback of Lois, ring on finger, throwing dirt atop his coffin. This is the bond that’s keeping them together, and is wonder if it’s an object that will mean more in the film. Lois then wakes from her dream, into a world without hope.
“I had a dream” Bruce begins to describe as terror reigns. The bombastic soundtrack begins to play. We see Parademons soaring to attack what look to be Amazonian warriors.
“It was the end of the world,” Steppenwolf brings the hammer down, creating a shockwave the vaporizes everything it its path. A male warrior, likely one of the vikings as the ones seen the first trailer, looking to transform into a Parademon. The battle rages on.
A shot of Diana, looking distraught. “Invasion” she utters as we see a shot of ships likely hailing from Apokolips decimating the world’s mountains and valleys.
“We could be heroes” the soundtrack becomes clear. A cover of “Heroes” by David Bowie, by Gang of Youths, is triumphantly playing in the background.
A little girl watches on as Parademons plague the skies.
“I think it’s something more…something darker,” Bruce continues.
Detective Gordon flips the switch for the Bat signal. A familiar shot of Batman taking notice now has the Batwing flying into view.
Aquaman is observant in the sea, as maybe the invasion in his home is afoot. “We’re asking people we don’t know to risk their lives,” Diana likely reminds Bruce.
Diana’s morality and strength that comes from is captured perfectly in this shot of her standing atop the arm of Lady Justice.
“A strong man is strongest alone. You ever heard that?” Arthur Curry affirms.
Victor Stone brings up some holographic images of when he played football…
…The Flash flashes a smile…
…and a shirtless Arthur Curry turning to land.
“That’s not a saying. That’s the opposite of what the saying is.” Bruce corrects him. Just goes to show Aquaman’s going to take some convincing to join the League.
Some shots of the Batmobile in action as tendrils consume the world around it.
Batman uses the turret to fire at the threats before him.
“Divided we are not enough”
We see The Flash trip as he’s running…
…Aquaman being thrown against a structure and rammed through it by what looks to be Steppenwolf…
…Cyborg suffering through the bursting energy in his hands from what could be a Motherbox…
…and Wonder Woman taking on Steppenwolf surrounded by Parademons, but being taken down.
“The world needs Superman” Bruce declares, looking on at the hologram of the Kryptonian, followed by a shot returning to his memorial.
Wonder Woman steps on her sword, flipping it back into her hand.
Cyborg takes off from Steppenwolf.
The Flash races and reaches out.
“I made him a promise” Batman puts on his goggles and pilots the Flying Fox towards a dome coursing with energy.
“This is why I brought you together” Bruce continues…
Aquaman impales a Pardemon mid-flight, but begins to plummet…
…until he’s saved by Cyborg! “Ride ain’t over yet.”
“My man!” Aquaman exclaims.
Cyborg launches Aquaman to strike through yet another Parademon, wailing with excitement.
Suddenly, a Parademon breaks open the top of the Batmoblie to attack Batman…
…until he’s saved by Wonder Woman.
She lands and is passed by The Flash, looking on as Batman blasts through more Parademons, and Aquaman lands on and rides the Batmobile. She grins at just how amazing their team is!
Barry energetically takes notice of what he sees in the sky “Oh, awesome! That’s the bat signal. That’s your–”
He quiets himself down “–Oh, shh. Sorry. That’s your signal, that means we have to go now.”
“Yeah, yeah, that’s what that means.” Bruce responds
“So cool!” Bruce and Diana share a curious look, not realizing how epic their team will become!
What a trailer! The dream of Lois featuring Clark was a perfect way to tease his presence in the film without revealing how he returns. The conflict flourishes with the conquest of forces from Apokolips and their destruction. The establishment of the members, their mishaps, and ultimately being united what defines our heroes. There is no better song choice for this trailer and I would like to download this cover as soon as I can. There are so many money shots (as you’ve seen), repetition of what we’ve seen in previous trailers, and still not much word on story. This makes the trailer so much better because I would rather be kept waiting to see it unfold on screen. The interplay of the team, what makes the Justice League, is how this trailer closes. It’s funny, it’s thrilling, but I feel like something was just on the surface in ths sake of the story, and that’s emotion. Looking forward to November 17th!
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s (Henry Cavill) selfless act, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash — it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League comes to theaters November 17th, 2017, starring Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Ezra Miller, Amy Adams and Henry Cavill
