Can the original ever be replaced? Here is a review of the season’s third episode titled Next of Kin.
Warning: Possible spoilers ahead!
Plot Summary
Following in from the previous episode, John Diggle faces difficulties taking on the mantle of the Green Arrow.
Meanwhile, Oliver Queen attempts to help his son William study for his Math test. The investigation on him being the Green Arrow continues.
Discussion
In this episode, Diggle seems to apparently face his fears. By the end of the episode, viewers are not too sure. Meanwhile, we find Oliver trying to live a normal life without vigilantism. He, unfortunately, cannot help his son with his math test because he, too, has had a hard time in school.
Next of Kin teaches fans to believe in themselves no matter what happens. In Diggle’s case, this may involve cheating, but for how long will this last?
Overall, this episode is not too bad, although we do find the show making the same mistake it made in its fourth season; we all thought this controversial thing would have ended, but sadly we were wrong. Only time will tell, and perhaps if the showrunners do decide to keep this alive, they should execute it in a way that pleases all fans.
Easter Eggs and References:
- Kord Enterprises – The business run by Ted Kord/ Blue Beetle makes another appearance on the show. Will this signify the introduction of the character?
