According to reports from Variety, the Tolkien estate and Warner Bros. are talking with Amazon about a new adaptation to Tolkien’s beloved Lord of the Rings series, with Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos doing the early negotiations.
While very little information is known currently, it seems Amazon is stepping away from their normal, small indie shows to go for something a little bigger here.
This also seems to mean that Warner Bros. and the Tolkien estates are starting to get back into good terms after their previous feud.
Warner Bros. produced the previous Lord of the Rings adaptation, directed by Peter Jackson, and it’s prequel trilogy, The Hobbit.
