The Mutant Underground will need all the help they can get. Meanwhile, things get personal for Agent Turner. Here is our review on The Gifted‘s sixth episode of its first season titled got your siX.

Plot Summary
In light of what happened in the previous episode (boXed in), Reed Strucker, his son Andy Strucker, and Marcos Diaz/ Eclipse travel to Baton Rouge to retrieve some intel on fellow mutant Pulse as well as some other important information. Lorna Dane/ Polaris decides to train some young mutants (including Lauren Strucker), much to Caitlin Strucker’s concern.
Meanwhile, Clarice Fong/ Blink confronts John Proudstar/ Thunderbird about the false memories she has been having of him. After having his head messed with, Sentinel Services Agent Jace Turner decides to get help from Roderick Campbell, and the situation grows more serious as this hits home.
Discussion
In this episode, we learn more about Thunderbird, his past, and his involvement in the Underground. Having fought for his country with two tours, he still receives some disrespect from non-Mutants. When he is attacked by anti-Mutant supporters by an explosive, he protects those around him. However, he begins to have his doubts when he says, “Maybe the X-Men made a mistake choosing me to be part of the Underground.” Will we see the Resistance in a fight with a Sentinel sometime in the future? Perhaps so.
Something big is bound to happen soon. This is teased when Sonya/ Dreamer says, “The X-Men said, ‘A war is coming’.” As a response, Thunderbird says, “They didn’t say we’d win.” The fate of humans and mutants alike is unknown, but we will have to stick around to find out.
We see the departure of one character and the introduction of new ones. Will they all come back soon in time for the fight against the enemy? We’ll have to wait for next week’s episode.
Caitlin continues to come to terms with her children being part of the Mutant world. Lorna tells her, “What your kids can do, it’s way beyond what we usually see. Their powers are incredible … They’re mutants. This? This is their new normal.”
In got your siX, we also learn about the importance of teamwork. Andy gets cocky with his special abilities until his father says, “Your power is not the answer to everything. Right now, the answer is for us to be a team.” He and his father discuss having to use his abilities for good, something the gifted should not take for granted.
Overall, this episode shows some great character development. In addition, it drives the series forward storywise with this week’s title also paying homage to veterans around America.

- Chris Claremont – The 18-wheeler transporting a container with “Claremont Interstate Movers” on it is holding Reed Strucker, his son, and Marcos Diaz.
- Chris Claremont is a legendary American comic book writer best known for his work on the Uncanny X-Men (initially titled The X-Men). During his time at Marvel, he helped create a variety of X-Men characters–e.g. Cannonball, Emma Frost, Gambit, Jubilee, Legion, Mister Sinister, Mystique, Phoenix, Psylocke, Pyro, Rogue, Sabretooth, etc.–as well as story arcs such as The Dark Phoenix Saga and Days of Future Past.
