The Rock will face off against Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and the rest of the Suicide Squad!
According to TheWrap, two insiders familiar with the Warner Bros. production stated that the DC super villain Black Adam, played by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, could debut in the Suicide Squad sequel.
The plan for the film is “for the members of Suicide Squad to be tasked with tracking down a weapon of mass destruction. That weapon? Black Adam himself.”
Black Adam is mostly known as Shazam’s nemesis in the DC Comics. Seeing him in a Suicide Squad film might upset some fans as it was hinted that he was to fight Superman in the Man of Steel sequel.
TheWrap hints that The Rock’s busy schedule due to various projects like the HBO series Baller, Disney’s Jungle Cruise, and the Fast and Furious spin-off is why Suicide Squad 2 has an October 2018 production schedule. Luckily, the film “shouldn’t be too much of a scheduling issue, because Black Adam’s part shouldn’t take much time to shoot […]”, according to the site.
Suicide Squad 2 is to be directed by Gavin O’Connor (The Accountant, Warrior).
