In an interview with Canada’s Toronto Sun for his newest film to hit theaters titled 12 Strong, Australian actor Chris Hemsworth says that Infinity War and the untitled fourth Avengers film are “going to be massive” and that he “finished [filming over] two days ago.” He says:

“This is one of the biggest things in film history, and to be a part of it was just incredible. I think what these characters are about to face–with Thanos–there’s been nothing quite like it. There are 76 cast members, or something like that. I think what people are going to be excited about is what I was excited about, and that’s Thor meeting the Guardians [as well as] Iron Man meeting Doctor Strange.”

He also lauds directors Joe and Anthony Russo for their work on the films. Aside from the best action in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far, Hemsworth promises emotional depth in both Avengers films, the latter of which will end the MCU’s story arc that spanned across twenty-two films and three Phases. He explains:

“The interactions between all of these characters, the different sorts of chemistry, and the relationships formed is something people are going to be pretty blown away by.”

In regards to his other recent MCU film, Thor: Ragnarok, he was surprised at its popularity, having expected it to perform well in theaters.

The actor also spoke to USA Today about his time as Thor in the MCU. His current contract with Marvel expires with the untitled fourth Avengers film. He says:

“Contractually, right now–yeah, this is it. I’m done [with the role of Thor]. I won’t be playing the character again. It’s sort of a scary thought. This really seemed like this never-ending thing, and now it’s potentially finishing.”

However, he had also considered a fourth Thor film with director Taika Waititi. Having improved on the character with Ragnarok, they spitballed new ideas whilst celebrating New Year’s Eve together. He elaborates:

“I felt like we re-invented him. There is a bigger platform now to continue if we want to.”

He had brought this up to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who clarified that the main focus, for the time being, is the Avengers films.

What do you think? Are you excited for what’s to come? Who do you think will survive this war? Let us know!

The Avengers will have to unite with the Guardians of the Galaxy for what just might be the most crucial fight for their lives as well as their worlds. Avengers: Infinity War will feature up to seventy-six cast members (or characters) according to the Thor actor. The film hits theaters on May 4, 2018, and this will mark the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s tenth year since Iron Man’s release in theaters.
