Marvel has been delivering a lot of news lately in anticipation of the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, now due out at the end of next month. They are always in motion, even with upcoming productions like the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. Just last week, it was announced that Spidey’s next adventure would be returning to film in the Big Apple itself.

This filming location is an addition to places such as Berlin and the United Kingdom, as well as Atlanta. Locations that go beyond the U.S. leave us to speculate what the story might be about. The casting call of “a mysterious European young lady that will likely lead [Spider-Man] into danger” lends itself to these locations. Silver Sable/Silver Sablinova is a possibility, especially since she is one of the main characters in the upcoming Silver & Black, the female led duo film where she will be alongside Black Cat.

This leads me to my own speculation. The new Avengers films that precede this installment could be taking Peter Parker into the cosmos. Venom, preceding this film but taking place after Avengers: Infinity War, seemingly contains the investigation of a wreckage that looks to be that of a spaceship. This chronology of events leads me to theorize Venom just might be the villain. With the hopes that both Silver Sable and Venom would be involved in the sequel, it would be cool to see the story of the Ultimate Spider-Man video game play out on screen! Silver Sable pursues Brock in the game, and she could already be doing so in Venom.

The video game, given the stories already being told and implied by what we’ve seen, could be loosely adapted. Eddie, who will already have the suit, could be hungry for Peter’s symbiote to make himself more powerful. In the comics, Brock was motivated by Spider-Man catching a criminal he exposed in the press as someone else, so that could factor in, too.

Shocker appears in the video game and could make a comeback from the first film. Sharon Carter, having appeared in the last two Captain America installments also appears in the video game. A landmark in the video game: Latverian Embassy could hint at the presence of Doctor Doom and even introduce a new character to the MCU called Beetle (probably my favorite character from the video game, so I would be stoked to see that happen).

Even though this is far-fetched, where the filmmakers go, both literally and in terms of story, is something of curiosity. Filming for the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel is set to begin at the end of May/beginning of June and is to last until September. It is slated for release July 5, 2019
