BEFORE WE GO ANY FURTHER IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN INFINITY WAR THIS IS YOUR WARNING FOR SPOILERS!
Avengers: Infinity War has been out for a little over a week, and while we all have so many questions that we want the answers to now, we will have to wait until this time next year to get our questions answered. One of those questions that fans are asking themselves is, “Where was/is Ant-Man?”
Today, let’s try to answer this question. Let us look at some of the possibilities as to where our tiny Avenger was at while Thanos was making his best Carlton impression.
Let‘s start with the obvious, he or he and his motley crew were most likely not turned into ash. We know this because there have been set photos from Avengers 4 with him in them. Now, this is all speculation, so take it with a grain of salt. With all this being said, someone from his team could be turned into ash in a post-credit scene during Ant-Man and The Wasp (the set photos could be fake). As for his movie timeline, it takes place right after the events of Captain America: Civil War. We know Mr.Lang is under house arrest because it is stated during Infinity War, so his shenanigans with his team most likely take them somewhere off the grid. The place that they could be is the Microverse.
We can infer this for a couple of reasons. First, we know that the great Michelle Pfeiffer has been cast in the movie as the original Wasp, and we see in the new trailer shots of them in an alternate dimension. So with these small details, we can infer that a significant portion of the movie will take place in the Microverse because that is where Hank Pym said she was stuck. The Microverse in the comics is an alternate dimension that does not follow or apply any of the regular physics or dimensional rules that the Earth follows.
Meaning, when Thanos snapped his fingers and got rid of your favorite Avengers, Ant-Man was most likely in the Microverse. This leads to Lang and the rest of the team coming out of the Microverse, wondering why the New York sidewalk looks like an ashtray.
In conclusion, Ant-Man is still cool, he just decided to go to the Microverse while earth faces its biggest threat ever. Let us know what you think Ant-Man was doing during Infinity War! For all things geek, you are in the right place.
