It’s a bird, it’s a plane….it’s a Supergirl feature film being developed by Warner Bros.
Deadline is reporting that WB and DC are working on a movie about Superman’s cousin: Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl. Oren Uziel (Mortal Kombat, 22 Jump Street, The Cloverfield Paradox) will be writing the script. The film is in an early stage and there are no further details.
Deadline further elaborates about a rumor that Warner Bros and DC Entertainment are hoping to create a “new template for future Superman movies”.
This movie is part of the new direction the studio is taking with their DC titles, headed by Walter Hamada, after Justice League‘s disappointing reception.
Audiences have become more acquainted with Supergirl’s story thanks to the CW TV show Supergirl. The show’s fourth season will be airing during the 2018-2019 season.
