Ever since the incidental suiting up of Pepper Potts as a result of Tony trying to protect her in Iron Man 3 back in 2013, fans had wondered of the possibility of her suiting up officially as Rescue in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In the comics Pepper had to first suit up in The Invincible Iron Man #10 when Tony Stark was being pursued by a certain someone for questioning in regards to a certain alien invasion (no spoilers if you want to read). With the threats to their world being bigger than ever after the events of Avengers: Infinity War (along with leaked video of mo-cap preparations and toy images), Rescue seems likely to appear. Now, after an Instagram post by user @kpow_ok, it seems to be confirmed.

Paltrow, who looks stunning as usual, looks even more spectacular donning this indigo armor tailored exactly to her. The abilities of this suit obviously remain to be seen, but a more important aspect to theorize is the means of her retrieving it. With Rescue’s origin story in mind, do we find that, when Tony Stark returns to earth, he is being hunted by Senator Ross who believes he caused the effects of the snap? Is this a Pepper of the past who finds this suit before Tony initiates the “Clean Slate” protocol? Guess we’ll have to wait until next spring to find out!
