In 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, we met Frank Grillo’s Brock Rumlow. We would later see him face off against The Avengers in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, under the alias of Crossbones.

Last year, it was heavily rumored, and later reported, that Frank Grillo would be reprising his role in 2019’s Avengers 4. It was unclear how he would return, considering he killed himself in an attempt to kill Captain America in Civil War.

As reported by SuperBroMovies, Grillo was on UFC Unfiltered speaking to the hosts about his character and why Marvel Studios decided to kill off Brock Rumlow. While Grillo didn’t go into too much detail on the decision made by Marvel, he did in fact reveal that he would be returning in Avengers 4:

“He makes an appearance in the next Avengers film, but it’s a flashback”

Grillo then went on to talk about how he is allowed to speak on the film considering he doesn’t currently have a contract with Marvel Studios, and doesn’t plan on returning to the MCU anytime soon. This does suggest that the flashback may be scenes we have already seen before, or new scenes from older films.

What do you all think about this news? Are you excited to see Grillo’s Crossbones return? Are you excited to see how flashbacks will play into the plot of Avengers 4? Let us know in the comments below! And as always, for more things geek, follow us @GEEKMOTIVATION.
