While the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has grossed more than $4.5 billion worldwide, the latest edition, Dead Men Tell No Tales, has earned one of the lowest amounts of the franchise at $794,780,215. Even though this movie was not as successful as the others, it seems like Disney is going to reboot the franchise. Whether it is going to include past characters/storylines or new ones is still not revealed, but according to Deadline, Disney is currently in talks with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland) about writing the reboot.
Given that Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are well-versed in writing great comedy/action films, I believe that they have the capacity of making a new addition to the world of Pirates of the Caribbean great. What do you think about a Pirates of the Caribbean reboot? Are there any characters you would want in the film? Comment below!
