A great film or television series cannot be great if its musical score is a missing component in the equation. Have you ever seen a film that proved otherwise? Perhaps in some cases, this could be true, but the Star Wars franchise would not be where it is if its orchestra had not been involved. This aspect of the series is what helped make it so powerful to its fans.

With Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian to hit Disney’s streaming service sometime in the near future, Ludwig Göransson has been brought in to compose the orchestral score for the series.

For those who may be unaware, Göransson has been involved in musical scores for various films and television shows. This includes Dan Harmon’s hit sitcom Community; Ryan Coogler’s Fruitvale Station, Creed, Creed II, and Black Panther; and Ruben Fleischer’s 30 Minutes or Less and–yes–Venom. The Swedish musician is also a frequent collaborator and record producer of Childish Gambino’s music and has received several Grammy nominations.

The next time you see a movie in theaters or a show on television, consider who may be behind the musical element. You might be surprised at who worked hard to make a masterpiece what they are.

What are your thoughts? Do you think he is an excellent choice for this series? Let us know! For more Star Wars-related news and reviews, follow Geek Motivation on Twitter (@GeekMotivation) and Instagram (@geekmotivation).
