The James Gunn-helmed sequel to 2016’s Suicide Squad officially has a release date, and a new title! Now officially titled The Suicide Squad, the film will release on August 6, 2021. This comes a few months later after Matt Reeves’ The Batman will release.
Although Suicide Squad didn’t fare well critically, it still amassed a decent box office sum, earning 746.8M USD. This is in large part due to its August release date. With James Gunn at the forefront of 2021’s The Suicide Squad, the expectation for box office and critical reception is likely raised from that of Suicide Squad.
What do you think of the new title? Are you excited for James Gunn’s return to Hollywood? Let us know on Twitter and Instagram!
