CW’s Arrow To End After Season 8

“You can’t be a vigilante forever.”

Oliver Queen himself, Stephen Amell, has announced via Twitter that Arrow will be coming to an end this fall. The tweet can be seen below:

Arrow first aired on The CW in 2012. Since then, the show has received great praise for its first two seasons and its epic fifth season, while receiving criticism from many fans for the show’s change of direction in its other seasons.

Arrow was the first of CW superhero shows to start the “Arrowverse,” which is a term coined for the shared universe of CW superhero shows The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl. How the end of the show will affect the Arrowverse is still unknown.
