Like they said, “Whatever it takes.”

I want to start this review off, in the same way, I wrote my Infinity War review.

When I was eight years old, I dragged my father to my local Cinemark movie theater. I was so excited and amazed at the idea of an Iron Man film. I was one of the few kids who loved Iron Man before the film. I had watched the animated series every time there was a re-run on cable. Being a kid, superheroes were everything to me. Every kid has a dream of being a superhero, and these heroes allow us to have an inside look at what those dreams could be, if one day we built a suit of armor, or were exposed to gamma radiation.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe began as just an idea, something that could happen, not would happen. Little did fans, and even the executives know, that idea would be the greatest movie franchise of all time.

Avengers: Endgame was a risky move by Marvel. 21 films over the course of 11 years, all being wrapped up in one epic tale. This film could make or break the MCU, and my goodness did it make it.

When I sat down, I had high expectations for this film. There was a mental glass ceiling for me, and every single frame of this film shattered that ceiling. D8A29A83-EFE3-412D-93FF-E0AF840A0EAC-29370-00000EB10C490046.JPG

I’m having a very hard time finding a flaw in the film. Every single character was given an appropriate amount of screentime and development, and you could definitely tell that this was a film about the original six Avengers, and how they would deal with the loss. For me, I can’t find a show stealer. Every single character was phenomenal in their own regard. Thanos, however, was completely at his best here. His arc as the film’s main villain was wonderful and had me on the edge of my seat the entire time he was shown on screen.B775F152-4DA9-4ECC-9F83-AEB3060F2BE4-29370-00000EB1D82A1FFD.PNG

The stakes are high as they have ever been, but still, somehow the film reminds you that it all began with just one man in a cave. The pacing was wonderful, and the writing was some of the best within the MCU. The Russo Brothers are also at their best here. The film is directed tremendously and has some of the most beautiful set pieces in the MCU. The last hour of this film isn’t the just the best in the MCU, but potentially the best in cinematic history. I’ve never heald a smile for as long as I did in the theater. 2D468996-4B36-4D4F-AA51-6A021DC7D595-29370-00000EB0DF8C34FC.JPG

I don’t want to spoil anything whatsoever. This is a film that you need to walk into knowing absolutely nothing. It is an adventure that needs to be experienced right then and there. I will say, there is no after credits scene, but the credits are a wonderful experience.

This film is aware of the chapter it needs to close, and I’ve never been more satisfied with a film. This film is a finale by all means. It perfectly closes this chapter of the MCU but assures fans that there is a lot more to come. This film knows it has fans in the theater like me, that have been there since the very first frame of Iron man in 2008, and fans who joined in recently. Regardless of who you are, this film does one thing: it reignites that flame you had when you watched your first MCU film. This film is a love letter to any and all fans. It perfectly says goodbye to characters you love, and hello to the coming future of the MCU. I’ve stuck with these films for 11 years, and I don’t plan to let them go anytime soon.  B91CCC79-82FC-423C-AEB5-8E100FACB039-29370-00000EB0B21C9EA8.JPG

This film, if I could explain it, is a perfect sequel, and a perfect finale to one of the greatest sagas in film history. It closes out this part of the universe wonderfully.

To Marvel, I say this, Thank you. Thank you for these movies, thank you for letting this nineteen-year-old guy feel like a kid every time I sit in a theater seat. Thank you for inspiring me to be creative, and create things that I love. Thank you for reminding us that heroes are real, and imagination is a beautiful thing. Thank you for making films that make us smile, hurt, cry, laugh, and bond with others.

Thank You.

Avengers: Endgame is the perfect ending to the last 21 films, and is genuinely an amazing film in and of itself. I can’t believe I’m saying it, But it is the greatest MCU film yet. It both makes me appreciate all we’ve gotten so far and excites for what is to come.

Rating: 10/10.
