David Dastmalchian, who portrays Kurt in 2015’s Ant-Man and 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, is set to join DC’s Suicide Squad sequel. The actor will unite with his Marvel colleague James Gunn, director and writer of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Gunn had written the script for The Suicide Squad, and will helm the anticipated feature.
Polka-Dot Man was introduced in 1962 with the release of Detective Comica #300. Quite a strange character, Polka-Dot Man, sometimes referred to as Mister Polka-Dot, wears a polka-dotted costume that has previously been known to hide weapons, and in some instances, allowed the dots to be used as weapons themselves. The extent of involvement of the character is still unknown for the film, and could range from a leading role to a cameo similar to that of Slip Knot in 2016’s Suicide Squad, helmed by David Ayer.
Dastmalchian will join returning actors Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), and Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang). John Cena and Idris Elba are also signed to star in the film, however Elba’s role is reportedly no longer that of Deadshot, who is said to have been written out so Will Smith can reprise his role in future films. Previous reports have indicated that the characters Ratcatcher, Peacemaker, and King Shark will be featured, but nothing has truly been confirmed.
