The rumor mill has been circulating with speculation that Taron Egerton will become the next Wolverine. According to Comicbook, on July 13th, Egerton made it clear that these were just rumors and that nothing was definite. He is open to joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe but doesn’t know if he is “grisly enough.”
Hugh Jackman, who previously worked with Egerton in the 2015 film Eddie the Eagle, held that character for 17 years. He now says that the ship has sailed for him, and Scott Eastwood has been eyeing up the character for a few years now.
On July 15th, comic book writer, Mark Millar took to Twitter and stated that Egerton would be the next Wolverine. It stems from a long-running joke of him never being wrong when he “predicted the future” of the MCU back in 2002 way before the start of it all. You can see that in the tweet below.
From 2002. Always remember I’m never wrong. PS Taron Egerton will be the next Wolverine 🙂 https://t.co/6OtsLbnWqu

Maybe Mark will turn out to be right again, time will tell. As for Taron, you can see him now as Elton John in Rocketman. Tell us your thoughts @TheCinemaSpot.
