It’s official! After 10 years, Avengers: Endgame has officially passed Avatar to become the highest-grossing film worldwide.

Kevin Feige made this announcement Saturday afternoon at Comic-Con. As of Friday, Endgame‘s gross was $2.789.7 billion. That was only $500,000 behind Avatar. Previously Avengers: Endgame was behind Avatar by $7 million but while reconciling, Disney found more money. This typically happens when a film ends its run.

As of right now Avengers: Endgame’s total is $853.4 million domestically and internationally it is $1.935.8 billion. In June Marvel re-released the film with bonus content and a deleted scene in the hopes of beating Avatar‘s record. It seems as though this plan worked.
