Viola Davis is one of the producers for a Fast Color series that is based on the film with the same name. Lionsgate released the film this year in theaters after it premiered in 2018 at SXSW.
The film centers around three African-American women, all from a different generation and all with superpowers. The series is going to focus on a character named Ruth. She is a runaway and when she returns home she realizes that she still has the powers she thought she lost. The three generations of women are now going to connect and find out which one of them can save the world.
Writer-director Julia Hart and co-writer Jordan Horowitz are both linked to the project. Julius Tennon’s (Davis’ husband) JuVee Productions is backing the project as well.
