FX can’t get enough of Donald Glover, apparently.

Ahead of Atlanta‘s Season 3 premiere, let alone the beginning of its filming, FX has renewed the highly-appraised TV show (and even that is an understatement) for a fourth season.

Atlanta premiered on September 2016 to critical acclaim, then with its second season, titled Atlanta: Robbin’ Season almost two years later. With the absolute popularity of its series writer, executive producer, and director Donald Glover, the production of the third season has been delayed a little bit.

Furthermore, the whole core cast has been given a popularity boost in Hollywood. The fictional rapper Paper Boi himself, Brian Tyree Henry (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Child’s Play) has just been cast in Marvel’s The Eternals last month at San Diego’s Comic-Con; resident stoner of the show Darius, played by Lakeith Stanfield (Sorry to Bother You, Get Out) will appear on the directorial return of Rian Johnson, Knives Out; and of course, Vanessa “Ven” Keefer, the female lead of the show, played by Zazie Beetz has a little indie film called The Joker on the horizon alongside Henry.

Atlanta follows Earnest “Earn” Marks, played by Glover, as he tries to survive the day-to-day life on the aforementioned city of Georgia. He contacts his up-and-coming rapper cousin Alfred/Paper Boi (Tyree Henry) and tries to be the best father he can be to his daughter Lottie on-and-off girlfriend Van (Beetz). And there’s also Darius (Stanfield), but he’s another story.

Are you excited for the upcoming seasons of Atlanta? Does it make you sad that we’ll have to wait like five years to watch them? Just kidding. The third season of Atlanta should roll around sometime next year.
