It seems we’re finally getting the Breaking Bad movie we always wanted.

On August 24th, the official Netflix YouTube Channel released a teaser trailer for their new original movie, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, and boy, oh boy, has it got people talking! With most fans perfectly pleased with the ending they received in 2013, it’s understandable that some fans would prefer to leave the masterpiece alone and retire the franchise peacefully. But after over 10 whole years, it seems fans are still very passionate about the series and continue to keep its name all over social media.

Information has been kept very private and under the radar in terms of what we know about the movie, so when the teaser trailer was released, it only added to excitement. We do see the date 10.11.19 appear on screen towards the end of the teaser which seems like incredibly short notice for such a big production. The trailer consists of fan favorite character Skinny Pete being interrogated by police searching for the location of our protagonist Jesse Pinkman. Pete claims he’s ignorant of Jesse’s location, but even if he knew he wouldn’t be willing to give it up, out of love and sympathy for his old pal. So what does this tell us?

The movie will be a sequel and follow the last-aired episode of Breaking Bad, specifically following Jesse Pinkman’s life as a man on the run. What we don’t want to see is a movie that destroys the masterpiece that was Breaking Bad. With writers like Vince Gillian, it’s hard to imagine we’ll receive a cash grab off a popular franchise. I expect a great product as well as a valid and interesting sequel.

The Internet is certainly rumbling over this one, so make sure to share your thoughts with us via social media as well as be up to date on future updates!
