After months of speculations, doubts, countless rumors and preoccupations from Spider-Man fans surrounding the Sony/Disney split, we are happy to confirm that our favorite the web slinger will continue his superhero journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to Variety, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have finally come to an agreement where the third installment of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will be set once again in the MCU. Both companies will produce the film, with Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal as creative producers for the film.

“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it. Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.” said Feige in a statement on Friday.

Pascal had this to say:

“This is terrific, Peter Parker’s story took a dramatic turn in ‘Far From Home’ and I could not be happier we will all be working together as we see where his journey goes.”

Surprisingly, Holland’s Spider-Man will also appear in another MCU film. The details around which project aren’t clear, but we guess that it’ll probably be on the next Avengers film. As to what Feige meant with Spider-Man being “the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes” this will most certainly lead to fans speculating around the world. Who knows?! We could even see Holland’s Web Head in a future Into the Spider-Verse film.

For now, let’s celebrate his return on the MCU!

The sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home is scheduled for a July 2021 release date.
