The classic 90s movie Clueless is getting a reboot and a plot twist. Think Mean Girls meets Riverdale.
The show will be set in 2020 Los Angeles. Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey (Will & Grace, Man With a Plan) have signed on to write the show, and the plot, this time, will center around Cher’s best friend Dionne. The idea is that Cher has gone missing and Dionne, along with being the most popular girl in school now, has to solve the mystery of what caused Cher to disappear.
Amy Heckerling, the director of the original film, is not involved with this reboot at all. Corrine Brinkerhoff will be the executive producer of the show and Tiffany Grant will be her producing partner along with Robert Lawrence, one of the film’s original producers.
There is not cast lineup yet or even speculation as to who will star in this series, but let us know who you’d like to see in this reboot at @TheCinemaSpot.
