Spoiler alert! It doesn’t mean anything good.

Earlier today, it was reported that Hulu’s Runaways was coming to an end with it’s third season. Nevertheless, according to Geeks Worldwide the shows closure comes as a creative decision. It is not the first Marvel show to end/getting cancelled recently, though.

Since november 2018 Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, The Punisher, The Defenders, and Cloak and Dagger have all been cancelled.

This chain of events, combined with the fact that a Ghost Rider show was stopped a couple months after its announcement leaves just a few series (outside the Disney+ ones) that are moving ahead or continuing it’s run.

Firstly, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is coming to an end next year. It was announced earlier this year that Huu was developing a bunch of animated series, including Howard the Duck, M.O.D.O.K., Hit-Monkey, Tigra & Dazzler, all of which would crossover in The Offenders, but nothing has been announced since. Plus, earlier this october, Hulu announced the cast of Helstrom.

Noting that all of the cancelled TV shows weren’t without it’s passionate fanbase, and relative success, what does this information means?

In my untrained opinion it means that Feige (that has both the President of Marvel Studios and Chief Creative Officer labels in his favour) wants all of his continuity under one roof. In this case, the Disney+ roof.

He wasn’t closely attached to neither of the Hulu, ABC, or Freeform shows, but is with all of the Disney+ ones. So, my advice? Don’t get attached to anything that’s outside the aforementioned streaming service. I believe it’s only a matter of time before any story this man doesn’t have his hands on is cancelled. He is telling the story, we are only here to get attached to characters that, if needed, will be erased from the MCU’s existence.

But that’s only my opinion. Please let me know yours @luisdnavas
