High expectations are surrounding Warner Bros.’ upcoming Black Adam film. Just a month after Dwane “The Rock” Johnson confirmed the release date for movie, news are beginning to pop around surrounding the project, especially with the introduction of some interesting characters.
According to Charles Murphy, Hawkgirl will be introduced for the Johnson-lead film. Murphy’s Multiverse reported that people working on the project are “looking for an actress between the ages of 20 and 30 to bring Hawkgirl to life opposite Dwayne Johnson.”
Hawkgirl aka Kendra Saunders was created by James Robinson, David S. Goyer and Scott Benefiel back in 1999 for DC Comics. Previously, she’s been a recurring character in various media outlets such as fan favorites Justice League animated series, and more recently on the CW’s Legends of Tomorrow and throughout the “Arrow-verse”. Black Adam will mark the first appearance of the DC superhero on the big screen.
Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam is currently set to begin productions for Summer 2020 and slated for a 2021 theatrical release.
