Ever since the seventh and eighth installments of the Mission: Impossible franchise were announced, we’ve been getting some great casting announcements like Hayley Atwell and Pom Klementieff. But we got the biggest one so far today, as it was announced that Nicholas Hoult will be joining the cast.
The news were shared via the the instagram of Christopher McQuarrie, who directed the last two installments of the franchise, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and Mission: Impossible – Fallout and will also direct the new installments.

Hoult has some really good action movie credit having starred as Nux in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), often considered one of the best modern action movies, as well as playing Beast in several X-Men movies. His role in the movies is as of yet unspecified, but McQuarrie and Hoult’s little back and forth could suggest that he’s playing the villain. And the actor is no stranger to more villainous roles, having brilliantly played the role of Harley in The Favorite (2018).
Mission: Impossible 7 and 8, which are yet to be officially titled, will be written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie and are set to premiere, respectively, on July 23rd, 2021, and on August 5th, 2022. They will both star Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell and Pom Klementieff.
