The highly anticipated The Falcon and The Winter Soldier might be on production hold for a short time, but there’s still big news for comic fans to appreciate about a particular group joining Baron Zemo in the series.
According to Full Circle, insider Daniel Richtman stated that Marvel Studios had planned for The Thunderbolts to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a while, and the Disney+ series might be the place to do so. This could bring some valid explanations as to why Baron Zemo (Daniel Brüh) is set to play as the main antagonist of the show.
Published by Marvel Comics in 1997, the Thunderbolts are a group of reformed super villains that have carried multiple iterations during the years. The most prominent representation of the Avengers-esque villains was Zemo’s Thurnderbolts, with Beetle, Fixer, Scraming Mimi and Moonstone. Although not as known in the public eye, they have been one of multiple comic book characters that have been asked by fans for them to appear in the MCU.
As of the moment, the series has halted productions in Puerto Rico due to multiple earthquakes hitting the south region of the island.
Starting Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie and Emily Van Camp, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is set to stream on Disney+ later this year.
