The cast of Marvel Studios’ upcoming Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings just got bigger with the addition of Rosalind Chao. Chao is an american actress of Chinese descent who has had an extensive acting career, staring in many shows like Star trek: The Next Generation, Castle, CSI, Hawaii Five-O, Black-ish and This is Us and will star in the upcoming Mulan reboot. She has also stared in the obscure Marvel show The Amazing Spider-man, from 1979.
The news were reported by the people at Illuminerdi, who got a hold of a casting sheet for the movie that listed Rosalind Chao in the role of “Mom”, a role Illuminerdi claims to be that of the mother of Awkwafina’s character in the movie.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be written by Dave Callaham and directed by Daniel Destin Cretton and will star Simu Liu and Awkwafina. It will hit theaters on February 12th, 2021.
