Earlier this year, Disney and Marvel announced that Christian Bale would be joining the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder. As one of Hollywood’s top actors, the collective comic book movie world speculated for days as to who he would be playing. However, his part was never revealed.
Finally, we have word on who Bale may be playing in the upcoming fourth solo outing of the demigod Thor. According to The Illuminerdi, it is confirmed that Bale is set to play the main villain of the film. While there was little doubt Bale would be cast as a side character, this news is great.
His role is described as one who is of alien origin and who is “otherworldly.” Previous speculations were around Bale bringing Beta Ray Bill to life, the horse-faced God of Thunder from the comics but with a villain role confirmed that is unlikely.
When Bale was announced as a cast member for Thor: Love and Thunder, I was very intrigued and ecstatic at the same time. Bale is a huge method actor, so what he will bring to the MCU should without a doubt shine.
What are your thoughts on this news? Are you excited to see Bale take up a villain role in the MCU? How about your thoughts on the recent Disney+ MCU trailer? For all news relating to the MCU and much more stay right here with The Cinema Spot!
